We are pleased to announce that Entity Solutions has once again successfully renewed its 482 On Hire Labour Agreement (OHLA) status with the Department of Home Affairs (DOHA). This means that we can continue to provide sponsorship of skilled overseas workers on behalf of Australian organisations, for all eligible skilled occupations on the combined Medium-Long Term Skilled Occupation (MLTSSL) & Short-term Skilled Occupation (STSOL) lists.

How is an OHLA different to standard business sponsorship?

Hiring an overseas worker in Australia normally requires an application for a Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) with numerous requirements and statutory obligations tied to that registration. Entity Solutions is one of very few businesses in Australia with the authority to offer an OHLA arrangement which allows businesses without a current SBS to outsource that responsibility to us. It provides them a hassle-free way to engage global talent by taking advantage of our capacity and experience in fulfilling sponsorship obligations. Furthermore, we manage the entire process – one manager for successful connection of a candidate to a project.

There are a multitude of reasons as to why businesses should consider an On Hire Labour Agreement:

  • Connect people to projects with urgency.
  • Select talent from anywhere in the world
  • Engage overseas contractors and outsource the engagement, mobility, financial and repatriation requirements
  • Mitigate the risk and ensure compliance to the regulatory environment for 482 Visa
  • Use the OHLA as a ‘probationary period’ if you choose to engage the worker on a longer term basis

Accelerating skills shortages driven by evolving technology are a real risk to competitiveness of Australian businesses on the global stage. In this new world of work, skilled migration can no longer be overlooked as an avenue for talent sourcing.

How can Entity Solutions help?

As we’ve discovered during our 19-year history in crafting workforce solutions and via our skilled migration workshops, the reluctance to source abroad is more often than not related to the perceived complexity of engaging these workers. Implementation of the recent 482 TSS visa changes is also likely to have contributed to this uncertainty. Entity Solutions understands these concerns, and our migration department is dedicated to mitigating these challenges for businesses and maximising the value of skilled migration for all involved parties.
